I have a rather large board on my personal Pinterest page devoted to flowers I would like to try to make.
There are so many things you can dress up with them, like scarves, frames, hats, hair bands, headbands, clips, backpacks, jewelry, curtain rings, curtain tie-backs… You could even add stems and use them in a vase or a bridal bouquet. The variations are endless with so many fabrics, trims, laces, etc.
Here are 30+ DIY flowers with links to the how-to pages.
Cathie Filian shows how to jazz up a scarf with these t-shirt roses. I love the vintage feel that using the faded t-shirts adds. Pretty easy to do, too, and costs next to nothing using your old, junky tees.
There are so many great free patterns on the Fleece Fun website, and this no-sew flower pattern has to be one of the prettiest. Angel provides a free pattern and both text and video tutorials. Plus, you get to play with fire.
You may notice that none of these are made from felt. I will be doing a separate post for felt flowers, as well as paper flowers, crochet flowers, and more. Stay tuned!
Before I go, I’d like to remind pinners to check the source of the photo before you pin, to make sure it links to the original owner of the photo. So many sites out there just steal tutorial photos and post them on their own website. I have given credit and a link to each and every one of these. This was a time-consuming post to write, because there were so many photos on my Pinterest board that went to the wrong page or just a photo.
If you own a blog or website – remember to watermark your photos with your website name!
That is all. Now go make pretty things!
Pin this for later!
